Each Day

I’ve been reminded yet again, over the weekend, how precarious life is. We need to treasure every moment.

Home is where….

…..Mum is.

It really doesn’t matter if it’s a house by the beach

or a modern inner city pad

or a family home in the suburbs,

home is where Mum looks after us, and we come together as a family.

This year, for the first time in many, my brother and mum are coming to Sydney for the weekend so we can all celebrate Mother’s Day together. I’m very excited and have booked a table at Sails Restaurant on Sydney Harbour.

I’m looking forward to updating this photo of the three generations that was taken a few years ago when we were last together for Mother’s Day.

Three Generations

I hope all the Mum’s have a lovely day and you all have a great weekend. And if you’ve forgotten to organise some flowers for Mum, ask Jennie to help you out.

Blogiversary

I can’t believe how quickly time passes.

It only seems like yesterday that I dipped my toe into the world of blogging and here we are two years later.

It’s been so much fun and I’ve met so many wonderful people. I love reading all about the lives of people all over the world and what intrigues them in the world of art, fashion, food and design.

I hope you’ve enjoyed being with me over the past two years as much as I’ve enjoyed sharing my views with you.

Thanks for visiting and here’s to another year of blogging fun.

Who Said You’re Not Creative

Creativity comes in many different forms. Many people say they are not creative but I don’t believe them. Everyone has a little creativity buried inside somewhere, like my Barista. He puts a little bit of his creativity into every cup.

So think about it, what do you do that’s creative?

Monkey Business

It’s been one thing after another with this wretched computer. We lost internet connection for two days and I could’ve sworn someone had chopped off my arm.

Anyway, it would appear everything is back to normal so no more monkey business. We will resume normal postings tomorrow.

Thank you for your patience.

It’s too hard

To keep talking about pretty things when there’s so much devastation in the world.

Thinking of you Japan and wishing you strength, courage and determination.

May the rest of the world reach out and lend you a hand.

Things I Heart

Well Happy Valentine’s Day!

It’s not really celebrated much in our house. But I thought I’d post some things I love. Hope you have a great start to the week.

Chocolate - any kind, any size, any time

Massage - any type, any time

Tropical Escapes - if I'm not on one, I'm planning one

Spending time with family and friends - usually over a meal

My dogs

Hoppy Chinese New Year

Just hopping in to wish you a lovely weekend.

It’s Chinese New Year and time to welcome in The Year of The Rabbit. From all accounts it’s meant to be a calm and peaceful year. I think the people of Queensland are looking forward to that!

This house, or at least information about it, landed in my Inbox this week.

Byron Bay House

I love their garden art, very apt for the Year of The Rabbit.

Kung Hei Fat Choy!

Hangin’ Ten

I’m baaa-ack!

Happy New Year! I know it’s the 10 January and I should’ve said that ages ago. I’ve been having a few weeks off recharging the batteries for 2011. I do hope it’s a good year for you all.

I thought I’d show you a couple of happy holiday snaps. We had a lovely week at a sleepy little village on the northern New South Wales coast called Angourie. It has a population of 300 and is better known for it’s great surf than anything else.

view from our balcony

Inspite of all the wet weather over the border in Queensland, we were blessed with blue skies and plenty of sunshine.

Digging in the sand

Just perfect for digging in the sand, going fishing and catching some waves.

Waiting for a bite

Learning to surf

There were some amazing houses in Angourie, even though there’s only 100 of them. The most impressive belongs to ex-Billabong chief, Gordon Merchant and is reported to be worth $12M. There didn’t appear to be anyone home during the week we were staying down the road, but the views were superb. The house sits on three blocks and the front door is reputed to be worth $80,000.

Well after all that R and R, I’m ready to tackle 2011. I have a number of jobs to complete from last year and already a number of lovely new clients to get to know.

I loved the colours and texture of these pebbles on the beach

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Just dropping in to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. We are celebrating with our family in Queensland this year, where the rain is tumbling down with much more to come, if you believe the weather bureau. We will then take a short break at the beach to rejuvenate ourselves after an extremely busy but satisfying year.

I hope you have a colourful Christmas and thank you for calling in from time to time and leaving your comments. I have enjoyed your company over the past 12 months and I look forward to our time together in 2011.
